5A South All-Stars push the winning run across the plate in the 9th inning to defeat the North All-Stars 3 to 2.

What a day for the South all-star team. The team comprised of Tucson schools Canyon del Oro, Flowing Wells, Buena, and Valley Schools Dobson, Desert Mt., and Red Mt. culminated their high school experience by inching out the North team in the 9th inning winning 3 to 2.
The South team started their day at 9:30 AM this morning at Dobson High School. They spent the first thirty minutes of practice sharing their softball experience and talking with one another. This game needed a jolt. Slowly, but surely it found it in the Class 4A All-Star softball game at Tempe Sports Complex.
Jazmeen Watkins provided the biggest bolt when she hit a walk-off, inside-the-park two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the South beat the North 5-4.
"By the third or fourth inning, we started to come together," said Watkins, a Sunnyslope product who's headed to Central Arizona. "In the seventh inning, everybody just came together."

Congratulations to all athletes selected to the 5A senior All-star team
The best of the best will team up and battle the best of the best in the 2005 Softball All-star game. The game is scheduled to played on Thursday, June 9, at 3:30 PM. The game will take place at the Tempe Sports Complex located at 8401 S. Hardy Drive in Tempe, Arizona.
The 5A South All-star team is represented by Tucson Buena, Tucson Canyon del Oro, Desert Mt., Mesa Dobson, Tucson Flowing Wells, and Mesa Red Mt. high schools.
